A Day for the Women

On June 12th, I had the honor of hosting a Beauty for Ashes Event for the women and teens we had been working with since May. I was so excited to step into what the Lord had prepared for me and walk in the trust I was (am) learning of His voice.

So I am really excited to share this day with you through what the Lord taught me, what the day looked like, and the blessings we were able to share with all the women and girls.

For weeks myself and a few other girls on my squad had been dreaming up sweet things we could do to build relationship with the women on the mountain during our women's month (which was the month of June when all the girls on my squad were a team and the boys were in another location). We began to dream up a day for the women, to celebrate them, share God's vision and love of them, and hopefully bless them with their very own Bibles to continue to know the Father better and better.

I had such a heart for it that I decided to head it up and work with my team of coordinators to make a space for this day to happen. I prayed to the Father for His vision for the day and he gave me two goals: empowerment of my squad mates and sharing His love.

So that is what I did! I asked Him to show me who He wanted to lead in worship, feet washing, bible study, field day, and intercession. Then I asked those people to lead in these aspects however the Lord showed them and put a team together that they felt led to ask. I then helped and assisted, and let the Lord take the lead.

There were a lot of aspects about preparing and planning this day that were new and hard for me because I was walking into this trusting the Lord to speak through other people. I didn't know if the event pieces would be prepared well or not. He was teaching me to walk in stronger trust with him and then trust in the people he was empowering.

The day arrived and I woke up with so much peace. There were still aspects of the day I wasn't sure what they were going to look like, but it was in His hands and I just knew He would be glorified. It was the most beautiful day I have had on the race. I felt so much joy seeing my squad mates step into the gifts they have, leadership, and speaking from what the lord gave them. I felt touched by the joy of the Honduran girls and women when they learned of the Bibles they were going receive because the Lord provided. Lastly, I felt so much love and awe for the Father who spoke through so many moving parts and people to create a day that was truly to His glory. It was a celebration of unity in Christ and family come together.

There is so much more I could share about this incredible day! But like they say a picture speaks a thousand words.
