Updates!!! We're Going to Romania!

You may have been wondering where I have been and what I have been doing these last few weeks because I haven't posted in a while. So I just want to update you on what my squad and myself have been walking through and how the Lord has been working in the midst of all the chaos. 

For the last month, my squad has been battling against COVID. We had a few teammates come down with it while we were on the mountain and ever since we have been trying to prevent it from continuing to spread. More specifically for me, I have been quarantining in Honduras with half my squad for the last 17 days because of direct exposure. 

This has been really challenging for our squad because we were set to go to South Africa over a week ago and because of COVID we have had continued problems getting there. We have had our squad split with half of us in the US and the other half still here in Honduras and it has been challenging to trust that God has been working in the midst of it all. 

However, He is so good to us. We couldn't understand why COVID kept spreading and why we kept having problems with flights, and just problem after problem, but the Lord knew what He was doing. In the last few days, South Africa (SA) has been raising restrictions because of COVID and other countries have been raising restrictions against travel from SA. Also, there is a huge likely hood that if half of our squad had traveled to SA we may not have been able to come back together as a squad easily. 

I believe that the reason we have been having so many problems with COVID and flights to get to SA is because God was protecting us and our journey in the bigger picture. Now we are planned to go to Romania where there are almost no restrictions and will be an open door to other countries we could visit. Also, our last COVID test had no new cases for the first time since it all started. 

For me this just goes to show that even in the times that are hard and we don't understand why they are happening, God has a bigger picture and a plan to prepare a better way if we will be patient and trust Him.
