Life Unplugged
It has been 20 days since my team and I have arrived at our ministry location, known as, The Farm. That is 20 days without access to wifi, the grocery store, or anything outside of ministry and jungle. You may be thinking; "That sounds crazy! How are you managing without these 'basic necessities'?, etc.".
Well I am here to tell you how incredible life unplugged can be. Since we have been living disconnected from social medias and all the distracting aspects the internet brings, we have found so much time to spend in community with one another. Also, I have found it so refreshing to have the space to just sit with the Lord alone, surrounded by his creation. I have felt more connected to his heart for me and his mission because of the intentional time to know him better.
We have been able to focus on the ministry our hosts have given us, which has been beautiful, challenging, and life-giving. We work Saturday's and Wednesday's with children who come from difficult home lives and we get to spend half the day teaching them about Jesus, singing worship, praying over them, and just having fun loving on them. The rest of the days are spent loving on our ministry hosts through repairing their ministry location in hopes of fulfilling their dream of a missionary school in the near future.
Life unplugged is just so simple and as challenging as it can be, it has been such a blessing. I hope to take what I have learned and apply it to my life after we leave the farm. To make moments of living unplugged in order to slow down and make time for the lord and community.
I hope you are all doing well and I hope to be able to share more about what the Lord is doing here in Costa Rica soon. Please be praying over the children we work with and over Fundacion Resplandecer to continue their partnership with God. Thank you all for your continued support!
Love y'all.
